Wild Wishes come true!

In 1982 my grandmother Ruby Pickard founded My Wish Inc. to grant wishes to terminally ill children. I accompanied her when she granted that first wish when I was only eight-years-old.

The boy wanted an American flag for his home, a humble request and one that left a powerful mark on my spirit.

Our first “Wild Wish” was letting a young girl meet a zebra.

“Wild Wishes” grants exotic animal encounters for children in Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas and Oklahoma who have lost a parent, sibling or have a terminal illness. We have been making kids wildlife encounter dreams come true for years, now we are doing it in a very special way through “Wild Wishes”.

A few weeks ago we got to grant wishes for two sisters-one wanted to meet an owl-the other have a horse encounter. It was a moving experience for all of us and we are so honored and privileged to have had the opportunity to do this for these girls.

Thanks to the good folks at Shangri-La Botanical Gardens for allowing the girls to meet “Maxine” the barred owl.

To Christ be the glory!
